4Missing some small parts but really works well.  Jun 29, 2008 By T. Vassallo
When I took delivery of the Factory Reconditioned Remington 14-Inch 9 Amp Electric Chain Saw, I noticed there was a bolt and a screw missing. They were for the hand guard and the blade. Luckily I had some spare hardware in my workshop! It also had poor instructions and no chain oil. I had some left over from my old gas chain saw so I lucked out again! Once I had it assembled (two tries due to poor instructions)...this chain saw really surprised me. I used it to clear some rather large (8") branches that had fallen in a storm. This saw chewed right through and wanted more. I had no idea these electric chain saws had that much power. If you are not dropping large trees, this may be the tool for your next storm clean-up!

5Wow! This little machine gets it done!!!  Sep 26, 2008 By Darren W. Brown "fromshadowlands"
I had a tree split during Hurricane Ike. So I ordered this little chain saw because it was very affordable. I was concerned that it might not get the job done. I was wrong! It did a great job! And with ease! It was easy to assemble and oil. I chopped through some tree branches that were more thick than 6-7 inches. Many of them! I'll have more jobs for this chain saw in the next few days. I'm amazed and proud to own this little electric chain saw. It's amazing for the price. And it's a little work horse...

5The Little Saw That Could- and Did!  Jul 23, 2008 By rjv
Factory Reconditioned Remington 14-Inch 9 Amp Electric Chain Saw #099178R
I was looking for a small electric chain saw to clean up our yard after storms had snapped some dead oak trees. This saw cut through a 8 inch trunk with no effort. It is great for cutting wood for our fire pit. For a little saw it has lots of power. The price was at least 10.00 less than a new one at the local Lowes. Don't be afraid of buying reconditioned- at least you know it was checked and works.

5Very Fair  Nov 27, 2008 By D. Saunders
I do not ofter leave a review, but in this case I wanted to leave one. I concider myself to be a pro when it comes to tools and can give them a run for the money even on a first try. Reviewers have mentioned burned up motors and too hard to build, this saw was a cinch to build, and if they used the oil, motors and chains are not burning up for a long time. For an 8 amp motor and the 14" chain it can cut almost as well as any midrange gas and most high end electric chain saws. Kickback was a minimum and I was able to cut up limbs upto 9" round and remove 500 sqft of thick brush in no time. Even as a saw for its price its better to own one of these then to rent one for a small job.

2Complete waste of time...  Oct 06, 2008 By Rusty
After spending 40 minutes assembling this turkey (lousy instructions), I find the chain all twisted and tangled. Then I spent 30 minutes trying to untangle the chain, but I had to give up. Back it goes.
